Workout perfect!

This was a great place to stay for my family. We were able to park a small boat and still have room for other vehicles. There’s a close public dock and walking distance to a public beach access. Very convenient location! And Sean was easy to talk to and responded very quickly to any questions.

Host replied fast and was very helpful. The house was clean and had everything we needed. There wasn’t a lot of through traffic by the house so it made the perfect vacation rental for a family with small kids!

We loved this place. exactly what we wanted.

Sean was extremely responsive and helpful with any issues that arose. The location was wonderful and an easy walk to the beach. Overall the home could use some TLC especially the carpets and outdoor furniture.

The location of this home is what you're paying for. It's only a block or so away from the beach so it was easy to walk with our children to the beach and spend time there without the hassle of packing food and everything you might need for a beach day. The location is why we chose Sean's house. We wanted to be able to have the beach within walking distance so it was easy to get to and from. The upper (3rd level) living space of the home is comfortable and warm. It was lovely to watch the sunset every night from the large windows and share a meal with my family at the big dining room table. The second level is where the bedrooms reside. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were decent. The master suite was amazing because of the deck access, but the carpet was in dire need of replacing and the bathroom had some presence od mold on the ceiling around the vent. All in all, it was a nice place to stay, but does need a bit of TLC and a deep clean to make it really stand out.

Die Lage ist gut, sehr ruhig und mit dem Auto kommt man überall gut hin. Sean ist super erreichbar und sehr nett. Unterkunft ist groß und geräumig. Aber vieles ist sehr alt und muss renoviert werden. Teppiche, Küchenutensilien etc. Für das Alter und den daraus resultierenden Zustand finde ich die Unterkunft im Preis zu hoch.

Die Unterkunft war zu 100 Prozent wie beschrieben, auch die Lage zum Meer mit weniger als 5 Minuten Gehzeit echt top. Auch richtig gut waren die zur Verfügung gestellten Bodyboards und der Bollerwagen für den Strand und die Strandtücher! Die gesamte Kommunikation mit Sean war ebenfalls ausgezeichnet, z.B. waren die Mülltonnen voll und wurden am selben Tag noch geleert.

Appreciated the beach wagon for our daily walks to the beach. Very close and easy to get to the beach, probably better than the waterfront places where there would possibly have been noise from the road. We flew in to Wilmington, and try to do carry-on only...so having beach towels meant we didn't have to pack them. Nice cozy home!

The location was absolutely amazing. Nestled among beautiful trees and tropical vegetation and a short walk to the beach! loved a quiet neighborhood to walk in at night.

Home had potential but was not up to normal standards for the price. Needs better kitchen supplies, new couch and new carpet. The fridge broke down during visit as well. They were helpful in getting a repair man out and refunded some of the food tossed as well but overall not what was expected. Thankful for our time spent with family still.

The host Sean was so helpful and very quick with responding. The place was beautiful and a 2 minute walk to the beach! Sean made sure everything was ready for our stay and provided so much. We really enjoyed our stay at Shell Haven, I definitely recommend this place!

We had an amazing time at Shell Haven! The place was so cozy and spacious. Very convenient walk to the beach right across the main street. The host was very helpful and responsive. The house was beautiful, although lacked some basic necessities (toilet paper very very low, paper towels only 1 roll, no mop for floors or hair conditioner in showers, etc.). Other than that it was a great house and in a very nice neighborhood! We very much enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere!

We had a great time staying here! The place was super spacious and had everything we needed. The location couldn’t have been better—just a quick walk to the beach, even with the kids, our dog, and a beach wagon. The house and the whole town were really dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Overall, it was the perfect spot for a fun, relaxing family vacation. We’d definitely come back!

Great place to stay with your family for a beach getaway.

The location, size of the house and host communication was all great. However the house needs some work or updating. The couch cushions are duck taped together, the blinds are broken, the master bedroom is very bright at night, carpet is terrible, the top covered deck is overrun with birds, the AC doesn't work well upstairs and stopped working all together our last day.

Sean quickly responded to all questions and was helpful. The house itself was spacious and nestled in a beautiful area. The beach was a quick walk away.

The home is in the most beautiful area and neighborhood — a huge plus! It’s just a block from a gorgeous, quiet beach (at least during our visit), and we could hear the surf from the porch, which was incredibly peaceful and calming. The views were stunning. Sean was very responsive and quickly sent a maintenance person to fix a loud buzzing from a broken exterior light, which we appreciated. We truly enjoyed the relaxing sound of the ocean throughout our stay. That said, a few issues kept us from giving a higher rating: The carpets were very dirty and the home overall needed a deep cleaning. One of the toilet seats was not secure — it completely came off when I sat down in the early morning. The third-story railing appeared to be in need of repair, which raised some safety concerns. With a little more attention to maintenance and cleanliness, this could easily be a five-star stay

House has everything you need with a great location

Great place for a vacation. So convenient to the beach. Safe neighborhood and easy to get to local stores and restaurants.

Great location, easy walk to beach.

Sean was very easy to communicate with. I contacted him after we checked in about some housekeeping concerns & he offered to have the cleaners come back. However we already had gone out to purchase cleaners, furnace filters, rewashed towels, etc and handled what we needed to. Sean did send maintenance right way to fix the outdoor shower. The neighborhood was very nice, friendly neighbors, & nice walk to beach. The home itself needs some TLC (a good deep clean, maybe new carpet, steam the tile floors, deck maintenance, window screens, re organize & clean kitchen cabinets)- it’s more of a bachelor pad/frat house feel but the price was great- so as long as you want something basic and close to the beach then its perfect. We would like a bit more cozy feel & a kitchen we could cook a few meals in.

Shell Haven was the perfect house for our weekend getaway! Its location was ideal, close to everything and just a short distance from where our friends were staying. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find the beds made and ready for our stay, making us feel right at home. The K-cup machine and the provided K-cups were a delightful touch that added to our comfort. The only small challenge we faced was locating the home on our first night in the darkness, but that was quickly overshadowed by the overall experience. Sean was incredibly responsive and easy to work with, ensuring our stay was enjoyable. I highly recommend Shell Haven for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay!!

Sean’s home was located in a nice neighborhood with plenty of room for parking. Overall the house exudes bachelor pad. The bedrooms and bathrooms were pretty clean with decent bedding and pillows. The living room space is fairly wide open that people/kids can hang out/ play not worry about breaking anything. Sean provides basic essentials like: paper towels, TP, towels, a Keurig & coffee pods, as well as a regular coffee pot if preferred. It’s a decent house, I just prefer a more cozy place. Thank you Sean for accommodating us with an early check in!

This is the feedback that I also shared with the host, Sean, who was very receptive: Unfortunately, we had issues with the cleanliness of the house. I noticed that the floor upstairs was quite dirty—perhaps it has been swept, but it has not been properly mopped in some time. If your cleaning crew is supposed to be mopping, they are not doing so adequately, if at all. Additionally, I had a severe allergic reaction to something in the house. I am not particularly prone to allergies, but it soon became clear to me that this was an allergy and not a cold. I suspect it has something to do with the carpeting, since the reaction was particularly bad at night in the main bedroom. On the last night I had to switch to the uncarpeted bedroom, and had a slightly better time breathing in there. My suspicion about the carpeting is just a guess though — it could easily be an issue with dust on other surfaces or the air vents. Otherwise, the house was lovely and location was good.

Location is perfect. Short walk to beach. Quite area. Only downfall I could say is the carpet has some stains but that’s expected when renting with pets, the couch also had a lot of stains. I always cover all furniture with our blankets from home.

The view of the sound from the living room was amazing! I stayed with my family and they each enjoyed every part of this house. Super friendly neighbors and having the beach access across the street is amazing.

Sean was great! They were very helpful throughout the visit everything was as told to us! Very easy and helpful directions for entry and for internet the kids needed it!! The house is in a very beautiful and quiet neighborhood and easy access to the beach!! Which was great cause we had my fiancées mother with us and 1 person needed a walker! I would totally recommend staying here,we are already discussing next year!!!!

The Shell Haven was super close to the beach, overall nice house, and pet-friendly. The host was very responsive and friendly. The only negative thing I would comment on was the lack of cleanliness we noticed upon check-in, especially since there was a cleaning fee in the cost.

We really enjoyed our trip to Surf City! The house was in a great location: a very quiet street with not much traffic and very easy walk to the beach, even when carrying chairs/bags/shades. The beach area near the house was not crowded and was very clean. The house itself was clean and comfortable—you’ll get a workout from the stairs, but my kids loved the multiple levels. I would definitely stay here again!

This home has a perfect set up and a nice view from some of the balconies. It is a short easy walk to the beach. Sean was very responsive to all messages and overall a great host!

We stayed with our toddler and baby and it was a great stay. It’s a short walk to the beach and a short drive to most restaurants on and off the island. Sean is very quick to respond and friendly as well.

Really stunning place and great communication but for 5 nights I wish it was to a higher standard a lot of things didn’t work unfortunately and there were a few problems that occurred, $1800 dollars for 5 nights is a lot for the quality of the home but nonetheless we had an amazing stay! Can’t say I would stay again just due to the price and a few other things.

Great area! Very safe and respectable neighbors and neighborhood. Sean was very responsive and helpful to anyways questions and kept in check with what had to be done. Home was beautiful, very spacious; felt like home. Not far from restaurants and activities and short walk to the beach!! Great area to have some fun and to enjoy the beach!

Beautiful home, few upgrades needed. Sean was quick to respond to needs/questions. All rooms were well stocked/clean. Beach was a few minutes walk, jaw dropping coastline. Definitely recommend Sean and this home.

This place was amazing. Great light - open spaces. Beach access right across the street. Stocked well with cleaners, spices, and kitchen supplies. They even had coffee available! I have a very anxious dog and getting her in and out was not a problem. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Lovely cost effective place near the sea.

Sean’s place had everything we needed for a brief, family getaway. The house is in a great location - easy to walk to beach; short drive to restaurants & shops; and in a private, quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and cooking essentials, and we appreciated having the linens and many toiletries provided! Sean messaged us clear and easy instructions for check-in and check-out, and was friendly and responsive to messages during our stay. Great experience and excellent host!

Great location for walking to the beach! The beach entrance near the house gets you to a stretch of beach that is not very busy and the beach itself is great. Host is responsive, nothing flashy but will make sure you have what you need.

Great neighborhood— easy check-in and out, easy beach access. We found thoughtful touches everywhere, from a couple of bottles of water chilling in the fridge, to an ice pack in the freezer perfect for a small cooler on the beach to kitchen essentials … great hosts.

Sean was very responsive. The house itself needed work. The air filters were noticeably dirty, dust was caked onto the walls in the main living space, the couch was noticeably dirty, the outside shower was broken. The biggest issue was the master shower had a crack in the floor that was hazardous for my two kids if we were not careful they could have seriously cut their feet. The water from the master show also leaked into the carport and went all over our vehicles before we noticed.

The house smelled of pesticide, there was food on the majority of the dishes, the carpets is filthy with dark stains throughout, as well as the sofa. I found roaches, which wasn’t a sprite with the cleanliness of the entire place. The house was entirely to small for two family’s of 4 with a baby . It is definitely not a beach front or ocean view like I asked for

We had a wonderful stay on the island and Sean’s place fit all of our needs. Location was very near a public access, the walk was very short to the beach. Nice large comfortable bed. View of the bay from the kitchen. Very quiet. Thanks for hosting.

We enjoyed our stay! The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful and a short walk to a non crowded beach. There were a few issues that we discussed with the owner and he was quick to respond with a plan of action. With these issues addressed, we would gladly stay here again!
