Serenity in Blue-Fire Pit + King Bed + Coffee Bar

We enjoyed our stay, everything was as described in the listing, and I loved that it was within walking distance to the Riverfront, like 5-6 blocks, maybe a 13-minute walk and mostly shaded. Their place met our needs, and we would definitely stay again! Thank you for a lovely stay! As an afterthought, the parking is located behind the AirBnb with I believe an adjourning one with shared parking. We drove a sedan car, and it was easy for us to maneuver turning around back there because no one stayed at the adjourning house, but keep in mind it may be difficult if someone is utilizing that parking or if you have a bigger vehicle. Since it was just us, we could pull in the extra space, and then back in our spot to easily pull out.

Great place and good location!

Excellent and clean space, very comfortable. Loved that it had all the amenities for a great stay. Parking downtown is not always the easiest so we would recommend ubering (or walking if you’re up for it) because it is a super short drive to get everywhere you would want to go near the riverfront.

We loved this place so much that I teared up when we left! I can’t recommend this house enough. It was so clean and well decorated. I cannot wait to come back again. Wilmington is so beautiful and friendly!

Great stay. About a half mile walk to the southern end of the River Walk and a block away from the Castle Street district which has a few cute shops and restaurants. So many beautiful historic houses in all directions. We were there for a quick 4 night trip with our 6 month old. We were very comfy. The place and appliances are brand new. kitchen is stocked with plates, pots, and cutlery. The fire pit was soo easy and nice. So great having a washer with a baby 😅 Weather was perfect right at the start of April. Be sure to check the hours of restaurants, we were surprised at how late most places opened. Might be because we weren’t there over the weekend though.

We stayed for one night and it was an excellent stay. The area is very quiet and exactly what was needed for a good rest - and we value that the most along with how well maintained everything is.

Serenity in Blue was a very good fit for my wife and me. The neighborhood is very quiet and walkable to restaurants and coffee shops. The house is solid construction and was a very comfortable stay. On our arrival day, we were greeted by a very friendly cat named Tilly. Turns out the cat lives in the neighborhood and often wanders from porch to porch. Wrightsville Beach was a short 20-minute drive away. As for restaurants that we would recommend, try Anne Bonny's Bar and Grill on the riverfront and Indochine for Thai/Vietnamese.

Blue Serenity exceeded the description and our expectations. Everything was neat and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped which really came in handy on those rainy days. The surroundings were very historic and it was a great walking area. I was able to walk to downtown in under 20 minutes. Fabulous places to eat and shopping a few minutes away. We will definitely return to Blue Serenity on our next visit. Thank you John for making our visit so memorable.

This was such a wonderful stay! The location was so great. Walkable to lots of different cafes, restaurants, and history. The streets near this rental are all so charming. John was also a fantastic host. Super communicative, friendly, and welcoming. The space looked exactly like the photos and the instructions were all straightforward. Would love to stay again!

Great place! The location was perfect, easily walkable to the downtown area and in a quiet, safe neighborhood with some really good restaurants nearby, Olivero was our favorite. Very clean, comfortable mattress and well equipped kitchen. Quick communication as well. We would happily return!

Quite, clean and enough every day amenities such as coffee pots, tea kettle , and basic cooking supplies to make our stay extra comfortable and easy to prep a meal if needed. We had a fantastic stay, the house was super clean and looked brand new. Host was easy to communicate with, bed was comfortable, and we loved being within walking distance of downtown but far enough away to not be bothered by the late night noise. Would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at John’s place while celebrating our wedding anniversary/babymoon during our time in Wilmington. John was a wonderful host, very kind and willing to do whatever needed to make our stay comfortable. The home is in a beautiful neighborhood and located within perfect proximity to downtown, historic Wilmington making it very walkable to explore all there is to see and do. Inside, the home is exactly as pictured, clean and fully stocked. Next time we are in town, we hope to stay again!

Loved this spot! I was here for a work trip and it really made the week go by so comfortably. It was so close to downtown so everything is no more than a 5 minute drive, and only 2 blocks from a little strip of coffee shops and cafes.

Place was as pictured and very clean. Neighborhood is gorgeous and walkable to cute residents and shops. We had a maintenance issue, but John was very responsive. Would def stay here again

Excellent home in a great area. Perfect distance from downtown to be easily walkable, but still slightly removed from the noise. Very close to up-and-coming castle street.

My first solo trip turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The place felt incredibly warm and welcoming—just like home. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

I really enjoyed staying in John’s place. It was a short walk to Front Street and the Riverwalk and felt very safe. I enjoyed my morning walks in the neighborhood. Amazing and quaint coffee shops, restaurants, shops, and cocktail bars within walking distance. The space felt very clean and was spacious. I loved the fire pit but unfortunately didn’t have time to use it. I highly recommend John’s place and would love to return!

We had a wonderful stay at John’s downtown home! The house was comfortable and peaceful, with a fantastic location. We loved starting our mornings with a walk to the nearby coffee shop and ending our evenings strolling to the Riverwalk for dinner. Having onsite parking was also a big plus. We truly enjoyed exploring Wilmington and will definitely keep John’s property in mind for future visits!

Wilmington was on our list of places to visit for a while (big One Tree Hill fans). We were able to visit sites in town related to the show, see a great historic town, and enjoy some great food on the Riverwalk. I will definitely keep this listing in mind whenever we make a trip back.

It was a quiet neighborhood. Coffee shop and restaurants a couple blocks away. The riverfront/downtown was further, but definitely walkable. Parking is around back after you drive between the main house and guest house. We had a big truck, so we just parked on the street in front of house as we were the only guests. Parking multiple large vehicles may be tight.

This was the perfect place to stay! Conveniently close to town, an easy drive to the beach, and very clean and comfortable. John was wonderful about checking in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Wilmington!

John was a great host with an amazing place. He was very responsive to any questions we had, everything was super clean and the location was nice and quiet and only about a 20 minute ride from the beach. Absolutely great deal for the price. The only thing I would say is that the TV in the living room could use some upgrading from the time I’m writing this as we had a little trouble getting it to work during our stay. Other than that, absolutely flawless place and a great getaway. Thanks John for all your help!

I would highly recommend staying here. It was awesome. Everything was as advertised . Very quiet neighborhood. Great parking in the back. Big shade tree to help keep my car cooler. Any questions I had were responded to quickly. Very close to downtown and the waterfront. Bed was very comfortable. A/C very responsive. Kept it nice and cool. Kitchen awesome. Bathroom and shower excellent. Washer and dryer look brand new. Easy to use. I can't say enough good about my entire experience. Loved it!

We had a wonderful stay while exploring Wilmington! John's place was everything we wanted it to be to make for a comfortable spot to call home to a couple of days. It was very walkable to town, had a lovely deck, and the perfect amount of space inside for the two of us. We were hoping to be able to take advantage of the fire pit but unfortunately it didn't work out. We would stay here again!

So much better than a hotel, which usually has other guests slamming doors and yelling down the hallways! This was private and lovely, walkable to downtown, and with parking included.

we really enjoyed our stay at john's place! the location was perfect- the neighborhood was quiet & peaceful but there were still plenty of restaurants, shops & things to do within walking distance. the apartment itself was extremely clean and cozy. john was also a fantastic host! there was a small problem with the refrigerator when we arrived, but john responded immediately and sent someone out to fix it as soon as possible which we really appreciated. would love to stay here again next time we're back in wilmington!

Amazing place, Bed is great for relaxing, Air conditioning keeps the place nice and cool, Awesome spatial shower, Quick and snappy washing machine, Nice looking kitchen with sleek countertops, Stools to enjoy a meal with someone, Good to sit out on the porch and enjoy the quiet night while eating something as well, front yard with well kept grass that is quite pleasing to look at in the morning, aside from the occasional plane flying overhead that might wake you up if you decide that it’s wise to sleep in, it’s a great stay!

John’s place was so cute and so clean. It is located in such a beautiful and nice neighborhood. He is very nice and takes care of his guests! Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return !

A wonderful place

Overall a great place to stay to explore Wilmington! Very clean, new appliances, responsive and friendly host and easy to get to both downtown and the beach.

Very cute place clean, modern decor, and maintained. Plus close to all the downtown happenings. Just as described, but please know that the two parking spots are not two large spots. If you are driving large vehicles I think it is more like one parking spots. It’s a tight fit. We would stay again and recommend this place for a couple or a party of one.

Came to town for one night for a concert. Was able to walk to any where we needed to go! Great location

This house was perfect! It was my wife, infant daughter, and me, getting away for a long weekend to Wilmington. The location is great, a short walk to downtown and Riverwalk. The street was quiet and neighbors very friendly. Parking was very easy. The house was newly renovated and it shows! Beautiful finishes, VERY comfortable bed, and squeaky clean. Our favorite thing was the outside fire pit; we used it every night after the baby went to sleep, to relax and have a glass of wine. John responded so quickly and helped with suggestions and advice. The directions for the house were clear and easy. I would 100% stay here again; such a positive experience.

Great location with easy access to all parts of Wilmington! The off street parking was a great bonus, and the space was perfect for two of us! The Airbnb had everything we needed for our stay and was on a nice quiet street, but still close enough to walk to local places. We would love to stay here again if we find ourselves back in Wilmington! John was a great host and made everything so easy! The only thing I would note is if you are planning to work you might want to scope out local coffee shops, the wifi wasn’t the best at times but was manageable for what we needed!

Loved my stay here! Super easy to find and get in. Having parking was awesome - but also loved that I could leave the car and walk everywhere! It’s in such a cute neighborhood, and a relatively short walk into town - also super close to Castle Street which also has some great restaurants and vintage/thrift shops. I loved hanging out on the porch in the mornings and evenings, and even got visited by a neighbor kitty for some company. Bed was super comfy and shower had great water pressure. Definitely would stay here again if I’m back in town.

Great room and easy to walk into Downtown wilmington. Perfect for the azalea festival when Downtown can be a cluster.

This place was super cute and clean! It looked just like the pictures. John was very nice and responsive. Location was great to hop downtown when we wanted to, and a 25 minute drive to Wrightsville beach. Would definitely stay here again!

A perfect place for a downtown Wilmington weekend!

Great location! Near the Wilmington Riverwalk where you have access to shops, restaurants and boat tours. The property was extremely clean and in a peaceful neighborhood. The host was extremely responsive. Don’t hesitate and book it already!!!

John’s place was the perfect stay for a long weekend in Wilmington. fantastic newly renovated upstairs unit. brand new kitchen bedroom. Walkable to all the favorite downtown spots can’t wait to be back.

This is a hidden gem located in beautiful historic Wilmington. This new construction rental is well appointed with ample kitchenware, pots & pans, new appliances, closet space, extra blankets and pillows, a comfortable bed, washer and dryer and gorgeous walk-in shower. The apartment was nicely decorated and had extra touches like throw blankets. The balcony has chairs and a small table to enjoy morning coffee and the fire pit area provides 4 Adirondack style chairs so you can comfortably enjoy drinks in front of the fire. The location is in a safe neighborhood that boasts fabulous historic homes and is easily walkable to downtown (where there is so much to do). John was extremely quick to respond and was very helpful with information about the area. We enjoyed our stay at Serenity in Blue and definitely recommend to friends & would stay there again (although the purpose of our trip was to explore the area and scout for houses and we succeeded in finding a nearby home to call our own!)

Our stay was truly wonderful! John provided thorough instructions, which made it easy to navigate the various amenities. I do have some constructive feedback that may enhance future stays: I noticed some used paper towels were left on the kitchen counter, likely from cleaning. Additionally, the shower took a while to heat up, and the hot water ran out quickly. While the kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, it would have been great to have a cutting board available. Despite these minor points, our experience was amazing, and I hope to return in the future!
