Bright and Bold: Colorful Haven in Central ILM

Decided to book with mark given that his listing was close to everything that I wanted to do to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. 10/10

Mark was absolutely great!

I give 3/5 cause it is a beautiful house with great potential. Close to everything we needed and very spacious inside. Mark is very responsive and easy to communicate with. It does need alot of TLC. If you over look need for serious up keep, it is a beautiful space and quite neighborhood.

Great location within 10 minutes to the beach. The outside doesn’t compare to the inside of the home. Inside it is spacious with the lots of room for a large family or guests. From the outside, I was a bit skeptical due to the blinds looking like sheets on the windows until you enter the home and see the beautiful curtains. This is a decent place if you need a last minute stay near the beach.

This was a serviceable place to stay! Definitely worked for us. We do not want to be nit picky in any way, though the house does need some work. Some of the amenities were hard to use or unusable though most worked. The pictures were not very accurate of the current state of the house (for instance, the backyard). Overall, this is a good property in a good location and at a good price. We just saw several areas of opportunity to make this property a 5/awesome instead of 3/adequate.

Mark was very fast with communicating. When there was an issue it was resolved in a timely manner. The location is perfect

Host was great with communication. Very responsive and proactive in how to check in and updating us when necessary. The home itself was well decorated and comfortable to stay in! Check out was easy and there were minimal expectations for us to get out quickly.

Mark was a kind host with a nice place set in a nice location. There’s plenty to do and see in the area

Mark’s house was fine. As described however there was a fallen tree and debris on the back patio so the yard wasn’t usable. The house was clean. The location was very convenient to UNCW campus, the beaches and downtown.

Close to everything but marks on the wall. Spiders and ants in the house. Also curtain rod fell onto the floor while kids were sleeping . Scared us to death. Screws were loose and also not in the wall. Only one tv needed more in the house. Needed a dustpan to sweep the kitchen. Hole in the wall in the living room. And terrible view in the backyard patio. But overall nice place just needs maintenance

What a great location to explore the Wilmington area and beyond! The home is in a private area with several other homes and seemed to be a safe neighborhood with minimal disruptions. Clean and comfortable is how I would describe the home and it had plenty of kitchen supplies. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were also clean. We encountered a broken toilet seat upon our arrival and sent a message to Mark who responded almost immediately. The seat was replaced promptly and without us needing to be there. From this home you can travel to Wrightsville beach in about 10 min, Carolina beach in about 25 min and if you want a more touristy area you can be in Myrtle beach within 1.5 hours and return back to the peaceful comforts of this home!

The home was spacious and the decor was vibrant; however, we did have some issues with the toilet downstairs (a screw was missing on the seat), there was a hole in the wall in the living room that we were not made aware of before our stay. During our stay Fri-Sun morning, we had issues with ants, spiders, and roaches (the kitchen area, the bathrooms, and bedrooms). We were not able to utilize the outdoor patio area due to a tree having fallen and tree and debris everywhere in that location. The blinds on the door leading to the patio were missing some panels, making the home visible from outside at night. Lastly, the internet went out on Saturday morning and did not come back on before we checked out on Sunday morning. These things made our stay a bit uncomfortable and hesitant to book airbnbs in the future. We made Mark aware of the aforementioned; however, nothing other than an apology offered for all of the inconvenience and unsanitary concern of insects.

Very nice and clean home. Mark was very responsive and accommodating. Within 30 minutes from almost everywhere, will definitely book again if back in the area!

What a great girl’s trip we had! We were glad we picked Mark’s place. He was a wonderful host and his home was a great place to stay. If you don’t have to be on the beach or right next to the Riverwalk…this is the place to choose. Thank you Mark!

we really enjoyed staying here, the place is definitely like the photos. very nice and they even let us check in early so very accommodating! would recommend.

The house is very spacious and accommodated our family of 5! The open concept makes it feel like we can enjoy family time in the evenings. Very close to Wrightsville beach, maybe 8-10 mins away. And probably around 25 minutes away from Carolina Beach. Would stay again!

Went to Wilmington with a group of guys for a pool tournament and the house was what we needed. There’s a late night convenience store with good food around the corner called buffalos as well.

Mark was a great host. The kitchen was well stocked as well as the bathrooms with soap, shampoo & conditioner. The beds were great and very comfortable. The house had every amenity that you would need.

The place was beautiful and Mark responded almost immediately whenever I needed to talk to him about something. Will definitely come back the next time I visit Wilmo

This house was exactly as described and it was perfect for our family. Not more than 10-15 minutes from anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again.

Though Mark was very responsive, when we arrived we found trash swept under furniture, food on utensils, and mold in the coffee machine with an old filter left in it. Parking in front was a roulette despite the listing stating 4 designated spaces- two nights we almost didn’t get a spot. The biggest complaint is the black mold coating the inner rim of the washing machine. We were instructed to start a load of towels on checkout. Upon opening the machine, we were punched in the face by the odor, and saw the inner rim coated in black mold. We were horrified the towels we had been using were “washed” in a machine full of black mold. We immediately alerted the host, and received a response who’s sole intention was to placate. My husband has asthma & the mold caused an attack, I let Mark know the severity of the hazard in his washer- he said he would speak with his cleaning people, but showed annoyance when we asked for a partial refund of cleaning fee + 1 of the 6 nights.

We had such a great stay! The house was perfect for our family and in such a great location. The fridge was tripped when we arrived, but Mark had someone out to fix it within the hour and even delivered ice for our groceries. Highly recommend staying here!

We stayed in Wilmington to be close to family. Good location for that. Though no fenced yard we had plenty of area to walk our dogs. Mark was very understanding when we had to confess that our dog ate the remote! We did replace it but I felt terrible and he was very nice about it.

This spot worked out perfect for 3 moms and their boys for a tournament weekend! Central location to fields, food, and beach!

This was the second time we have stayed at Mark’s property. This house had all the amenities we needed to make us feel right at home. It was also in a great location to everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Wilmington!

Gray place to stay for my vacation

This home was amazing! It was extremely spacious and was very cute! Located about 15 minutes from Wrightsville beach and 20 minutes from downtown Wilmington. We had tons of space for four couples! Would stay here again!

Overall the stay was amazing. House was super nice and clean. Only complaint I have was that there was a slight inconvenience when I got there. There seemed to be some confusion with other people not knowing what unit they were staying in, which caused a mix up and they were checking Into our house and didn’t know there was another unit around back other than that the stay was great the beds were so comfy and the host was very responsive

This is a nice four bedroom 3 bathroom house that was private and easily accessible to the location we needed to stay. I would stay here again rather than a hotel. Cleaning supplies, coffee, towels, washing detergent, etc. were all provided which was a big plus!!

Marks place was an amazing getaway for the family. Upon walking in we all were very impressed how clean and inviting the place was.
